The mission and guiding principle of A&E Healthcare Services’ psychiatric rehabilitation program are to create a program that sets extraordinary standards of excellence in behavioral health and mental health. We provide supportive and encouraging staff, along with a setting that encourages people to gain hope for themselves.
Overview:
AEHS’ Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) for Children and Adolescents is designed to complement, support, and strengthen the mental health (Therapy and Psychiatry) services the child is already receiving. It is time-limited and designed to identify each child’s strengths, skills, and needs.
Trained rehabilitation staff provide a combination of individual and group rehabilitation activities at AEHS, at the child’s home, and/or other appropriate community locations.
On-Site (facility-based) and Off-Site (community-based) services are family-focused, individualized, and based on the child’s and the family’s strengths and resilience.
Specific rehabilitation goals are established, targeting identified needs based on information from the referring mental health professional, a comprehensive assessment, and meetings with the child and their family.
PRP staff routinely evaluate progress with each child and their parent/guardian/support team and provide monthly summary reports to the primary therapist and other mental health professionals working with the child.
Admission criteria:
The participant has a PBHS specialty mental health DSM 5 diagnosis and is expected to be stabilized at this level of PRP care.
Services:
- Children and their family members choose the services they want to receive (onsite, offsite, or both).
